Some beach finds at the beach along the Tagus. Both shells and other items.
These clam shells were very common. This beach was actively scoured for clams (or mussels or whatever, sorry not my area) by people both times we visited. Some appeared to be digging for professional sales, not just for personal consumption. This shell has been in the water for some time and has been prettified. The live ones are dark and muddy.
A smattering of sea shells and another clam shell.
The extent of the sea shells on the Portuguese beaches was amazing to someone used to California and Floridian beaches which are all intensely mined out by tourists and have no shells left.
Modern turtle sculpture in wood.
A skull in the sand. My brother-in-law declared this a wolf, though I don't know why it couldn't be a dog.
