The first post from San Diego. Admittedly I was only in the gas lamp district and the convention center environs, so really only a portion of San Diego. 'Twas a pleasant trip, perfect weather, beautiful area, and wonderful food.
These Marriot windows and balconies are a little alarming. I wouldn't want to step out on those balconies without railings!
Looks a little Arte Deco-ey, though probably not. Sporting some exposure to the sky though.
It pays to install flat windows. Otherwise you get reflections that look like this!
I'm not a big fan of canilevered balconies. Nice potential views, but nobody sits on them.
A skeleton to prevent heat entrance into the building? Or maybe balcony railings.
Parking structure, public, so simple paint design.
That last step's a doozey. Notice the wheels on the left side. In another photo, he pushed his hand against the building.
More balconies, but more secure. Look like you have to share them among multiple rooms though.

Plants and scenes from around Canyon Country.
Its been a while. I've got some good shots since my last posting, but haven't taken the time to post here. This set is a smattering of shots from Canyon Country. Plants and a couple of objects. Enjoy.
Seed pods near the library.
Unfortunately, the song wasn't talking about California. Ember waves of grain. However, the nickname The Golden State was talking about our hills after the grass turns golden.
What this says about Los Angeles. Street to be extended in the future, power lines in the background, dry tundra in the mid ground, fresh tar on the street, no trespassing sign.
Wonder if this palm fruit is edible. Birds certainly like it.
Trash is never far from our thoughts, particularly when you're picking up the mail.
Trash bins are us! Even if we hide them, they're still beautiful.

Trees of Santa Clarita Central Park
I like trees.
Our continuing series of tree boles.
What's inside a tree?
Trees, warts and all.
Upright citizen.
Solar plant.
Maids all in a row.

Santa Clarita Central Park: Scenes
Some scenes from Central Park.
The Youth Grove to remember Santa Clarita residents under the age of 24 who died in traffic related accidents.
Come to mama baby!
Green and white balloon day.
And the other colors of the rainbow.

Santa Clarita Central Park: Objects
Objects lying around Santa Clarita Central Park.
Sails-a-crashing. This is what it would like if a green-sailed sailboat crashed into a blue-sailed sailboat.
The picnic benches almost hover in mid-air.
Lights. I brought the camera.
Floral stalk.
Because there is so much to steal. Is that camera battery powered or what.

Santa Clarita Central Park: Surfaces
Surfaces have many facets and we often overlook the many different ways that surfaces can appear. These are all ground except for one.
These first three show aspects of fields being restored to their former grassy self.
Field of string.
If you ask questions, they turn on the irrigation.
Sidewalk spatter.
Some sidewalks have it rough.
Pathway.
The rolldown door on the snackbar.
