Evora Doors, Windows, Stairs and Streets

Doors, windows, stairs, and a street scene.  From wandering around Evora.

I think this is Igreja de Sao Francisco.

This is the entrance to the palacio of the Duke de Cadaval.

Apparently a famous window in Evora.  Don't know why its there, but a lot of fun to look at.

Stairway to heaven.

Classic European narrow road.  Cars can go down this way, though it is a one-way drive.

Lisbon Reflections

Window reflections in Lisbon with an emphasis on construction cranes.

Reflections of reflections.

Your friendly neighborhood photographer is also visible in this shot.  The woman at the bus stop is also reflected in the window, but the reflection looks askew.

The start of our series on construction cranes.

Always one picture has to break the mold.  This is actually a shadow, not a reflection.  But it is a construction crane shadow.

Last in our series on construction crane reflections.

Fun house windows and your friendly neighborhood photographer.

There, rising as a mirage in the desert.

College of the Canyons Windows

This starts a major series of posts featuring images shot at College of the Canyons in Valencia, CA.  I found a rather high percentage of the pictures I took to be worthy of further looking at, so there are a lot of these, in addition to the pictures shown in a few blog posts ago, prior to the Val Verde park pictures.  Warning: There are a lot of shots!

I had thought the campus to be devoid of major photographic interest.  Massive concrete buildings baking in the Santa Claritan sun.  But as I took these pictures, I realized just how incorrect that impression is.  It seems to me that they've done rather a lot with rather little resources.  A lot of the little details and decorations are of interest, as well as the massive buildings themselves, the signage, windows and their reflections, the variegated doors, trees and flowers, birds and bees.

This post features windows and window reflections.  Windows are the soul of the exterior of a building.

Find the photographer.  Pico Canyon windows.

Find the photographer-squared.  Also pico canyon windows, with the shades open so you can see inside the dance practice studio.

Isn't this the kind of protection drug dealers put up in windows to you can't see that they're making meth inside?

One of a series of Hasley Hall.  Lots to photograph here.

Close-up of the patio cover that prevents the sun from shining in all those windows.

Technically not a window, its a grill covering there.

Windows with shadowcast.

Confab of the police cars in the presence of a modest green house.

Windows on the world

Some fenster-nalia for your viewership to reflect upon.

Convenient for shooting self portraits.

Jailed window.  Get that photographer out of there!

What to say?  Boring architecture.

Sad looking windows and a roof.

Corridors of Power

Corridors and doors and throughways at UCLA.

Corridor through construction, adjacent to Pauli Pavilion.

Canyon alongside Engineering 4.

See through C(N)SI building to the parking lot behind and the transportation building in the distance.  This room obviously has a wonderful view of the parking lot.

See through the emergency exit to the parking lot behind.

Corridor of power, Biology building.

Bustling corridor of power, Center for the Health Sciences.  And yes, it is always this busy.  Two or three blocks in front of us, at least a block behind us.  Match this Pentagon!

UCLA doors and windows

Doors and windows are the eyes of a building.  Look in to see what character the building has.  Is the door inviting?  Are people in evidence behind the windows?  Or are trees lurking nearby?

Engineering 404 is welcoming you into its bowels.  Enter and immediately decide which way to continue.

I've previously posted a picture of these prison windows.  This is where students serve detention and faculty on probation work.

But the campus is really beautiful with modern accouterments.  And how did they get those trees inside the building?

Math sciences window puts on a light show.

Earth and Space Sciences (what's left then?) lights and door.  1 of 2.

Earth and Space Sciences lights and door.  Do we really need that outdoor light on now?  2 of 2.

A series from Neuroscience Building.  Great windows.  Good thing they don't do top secret research there.  Notice the lab technician hanging just inside the window.

The reflection of the building in the door is kind of neat.  But wait, the one door is open, and we're still getting a reflection.  Then I realized this is actual a see-through to the building on the other side of this building.

Close-up of Neuroscience window.  This one not needing cleaning.  Reflection in the foreground.

And another view of the Neuroscience windows.
