Lisbon Reflections II

I took many pictures, and some of my typical posts will repeat, with new pictures.

A spa along the Belem waterfront, near the Torre.  The boat dock and photographer are visible in the window.

Expo Parque. An overhead walkway reflecting something obscure, with the two boat buildings in the distance.

It would be wise to turn left and not drive through the glass.

The Lisbon Casino -- a solid black glass building.

Another of the casino, with photographer.

Reflecting across the street.

Lisbon Reflections

Window reflections in Lisbon with an emphasis on construction cranes.

Reflections of reflections.

Your friendly neighborhood photographer is also visible in this shot.  The woman at the bus stop is also reflected in the window, but the reflection looks askew.

The start of our series on construction cranes.

Always one picture has to break the mold.  This is actually a shadow, not a reflection.  But it is a construction crane shadow.

Last in our series on construction crane reflections.

Fun house windows and your friendly neighborhood photographer.

There, rising as a mirage in the desert.

Reflections on Lisbon

Window reflections on downtown Lisbon.

Bus reflecting on Lisbon.  Notice the graphics on the bus below the window.  From the left, (1) Castle on board.  (2) Read your book, (3) Hold your parent's hand.  (4) The person behind the desk is very friendly and has no legs.  (5) Take your seat, da##-it. (6) If you stair too long at a purple sun, you too will turn purple.  (7) The moon and stars await you inside this bus.  And finally (8) runners should run towards the front of the bus only.

The clouds reflect off the building.

This and the next picture are of the same building.  The glass looks cracked, and the figure reflected is also fractured. Looks like an outtake from that movie where aliens from Mars invade earth and Tom Cruise fights them off.

I was hoping they'd come over to get me and take me away but instead they just let me snap this photo.  Notice the construction cranes in the composition somewhere.

Here we get a full on picture of the building across the fruited plain.

UCLA doors and windows

Doors and windows are the eyes of a building.  Look in to see what character the building has.  Is the door inviting?  Are people in evidence behind the windows?  Or are trees lurking nearby?

Engineering 404 is welcoming you into its bowels.  Enter and immediately decide which way to continue.

I've previously posted a picture of these prison windows.  This is where students serve detention and faculty on probation work.

But the campus is really beautiful with modern accouterments.  And how did they get those trees inside the building?

Math sciences window puts on a light show.

Earth and Space Sciences (what's left then?) lights and door.  1 of 2.

Earth and Space Sciences lights and door.  Do we really need that outdoor light on now?  2 of 2.

A series from Neuroscience Building.  Great windows.  Good thing they don't do top secret research there.  Notice the lab technician hanging just inside the window.

The reflection of the building in the door is kind of neat.  But wait, the one door is open, and we're still getting a reflection.  Then I realized this is actual a see-through to the building on the other side of this building.

Close-up of Neuroscience window.  This one not needing cleaning.  Reflection in the foreground.

And another view of the Neuroscience windows.

Valencia Reflections

Reflections on Valencia

Houses from Valencia Bridgeport upon reflection.

A manse in the water.

Trees reflecting upon the water and the water reflects upon the trees.

It's not a reflection, though it could be.  Bridgeport's ersatz windmill.

San Antonio: Water, Light and Reflections

More photos from San Antonio, Texas.  These are pictures involving water and light and their interplay.  You might think of water and light as mostly cheerful and pretty, but some of these photos reflect the glumness underfoot in SA TX.

A fountain in front of the cathedral, the kind kids love to play in.  Ok.  Frolic in.  I wasn't going to say "frolic".

Reflections on the bridge underside.

Another San Antonio fountain.  I like the water textures in the falls.

Not every piece of water is beautiful and pleasant and you want to hang out nearby.

Waterfall down stairs.  Gotta love stairs.

Rough water in the Riverwalk water.

This is not a picture of the building.  Neither is it a picture of the water.  It is a picture of the reflection of the building on the water.

And these ducks were frolicking in the reflections of the building.  There.  Said "frolic" again.  That's the problem with water.  Almost only thing to do is "frolic".

Dark and gloomy reflections.

Another less than famous waterway.
